These pictures were taken on another visit to the Sea Otter factory, in early February 2003. The interior fit-out is half complete and it’s still possible to see some details of the construction that will be hidden when the boat is finished.
Rubber fender strips have now been fitted right around the lower part of the hull, to protect it from damage. There are three of these around the stern, as this is likely to take the most knocks.
The engine is already in place (under a blanket) and the silencer is also visible. There are two fuel tanks, to allow for the fuel used in cooking as well as for propulsion and heating.
