We can’t really get comfortable in a standard double bed, let alone the four-foot “double” beds that you find on most narrowboats. So Zinfandel has a king-size bed in the rear cabin. Because the bed occupies most of the width of the cabin, it has been designed with a folding section. When this section is folded away, what’s left is a four-foot bed (you can use it like that if you prefer to) with space to walk through the cabin beside it. Usually we extend the bed each night and fold it away in the morning.
The photographs below show the two ways the bed can be arranged. (The cat is not part of the hire package and is always ejected before clean bedcovers are put on for hirers.)
