What we charge

Every job is different, so we ask you to contact us first for a quote, with a description of the work and perhaps some sample pages, before agreeing a price. For larger projects, we are very happy to take on a small part of the work first – a single chapter, for example – under a separate contract so that you have an opportunity to judge the quality of our work before proceeding.

To give you an approximate idea of what we might charge for your project, here are some sample prices for typical jobs:

We prefer to agree a fixed price for each job, and this preference is reflected in the prices we quote: you'll normally pay less if we work in this way. However, if you prefer to do so, you may pay for our proofreading services at an hourly rate. The exact rate will vary depending on the details of the job, but it's normally broadly comparable to the SfEP's recommended freelance rate.
